Just a photo

Since I started drawing, I find myself looking at the world in a different way, always looking for interesting people, postures, behaviours.. strange collections of objects, funny signs etc. But always with the intention of drawing them in pen either right there and then, or photographing for drawing up later, often once I have had time to think more about the image and what it meant to me at the time I took the picture or saw the scene.


This pic is from outside a chippy in North London on the way to a fireworks display. I’ve been turning it over in my mind because it was such an interesting image, but looking at the photo I have no way to draw it. This is mostly because although I took the picture with my mobile, it came out rather well and reflected the moodiness, rebellion and slightly alien sense that came from a couple of objects collected by hazard in a drain cover.


So I am not going to draw it. At least not yet. And here it is.
