I was massively disappointed today when a major psychology website posted an article by someone (with lots of random letters after his name) which was essentially a rant. Hey, rants are good. But this one said
(and I paraphrase)…
“People who think X are just crazy nuts… if you believe them, you are psychotic” and words to that effect. On a psychology website. Erm… mental illness stigma anyone?
I happen to agree with the message of the post, but I disagree strongly with dismissing peoples’ opinions (however ill-informed) as “psychotic” just as I hate all other pejorative, prejudiced ad hominem attacks such as “you’re so gay” (don’t get me started) or any of the usual suspects that one doesn’t write on a PG13 blog.
I’m not going to provide a link to the article because the silly, silly man has received enough traffic from me today, but if you really want to know you can check out my Twitter feed where I’ve moaned adequately in my capacity as psych-satirist.
So after having written a comment (that met with yet more nonsense from the author) and written a letter of “concern” to the editor of the website, I have resorted to cartooning which is what it’s all about after all.
Henceforth, if you disagree with me y’all, you’re psychotic…

Love the little demon! Well said, by the way. We have enough labeling in this world.
